This Privacy Policy explains how AlterAI LLC ("AlterAI", "we", "us") collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards information when you use our conversational AI services, websites, and related applications (the "Service").

AlterAI LLC is the controller of personal information processed through the Service. This Policy applies to information we collect online through the Service. The Service is intended for individuals 18 or older and is not intended for use by children. The Service is not designed for storing or processing protected health information (PHI) and is not HIPAA‑compliant. Do not submit PHI.

2. Information We Collect

  • Account information: email address, authentication credentials, and account settings you provide.
  • Chat content and files: your prompts, messages, and any files you upload, and the AI's responses ("Chat Logs").
  • Usage data: interactions with the Service, features used, timestamps, referral pages, and performance metrics.
  • Device and technical data: IP address, device identifiers, browser type, operating system, and similar technical details.
  • Billing and transaction data: payment method details processed by our payment processor (we do not store full card numbers), purchase history, and subscription status.
  • Cookies and local storage: tokens and preferences to maintain sessions, protect accounts, and improve the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send to support or legal and your contact preferences.

3. Sources of Information

We collect information directly from you, automatically from your devices when you use the Service, and from service providers (e.g., payment processors, authentication providers) that assist us in operating the Service.

4. How We Use Information

  • Provide, operate, maintain, secure, improve, and troubleshoot the Service.
  • Process transactions, manage subscriptions, and provide customer support.
  • Personalize and improve features, including model quality and relevance.
  • Monitor usage, prevent abuse, detect fraud, and enforce our Terms.

  • Service providers: we share information with vendors that help operate the Service (hosting, analytics, payment processing, customer support).
  • AI model providers: to generate AI Output, we transmit necessary inputs (including Chat Logs and files) to third‑party AI inference partners subject to their terms and privacy practices.
  • Legal and safety: to comply with law or protect rights, property, and safety of users and the public.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
  • With your direction: when you ask us to share information or integrate with third‑party services.

We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross‑context behavioral advertising as defined by applicable U.S. state laws.

7. International Transfers

We may transfer, store, and process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers (e.g., standard contractual clauses).

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this Policy, including security, fraud prevention, and legal compliance. You can delete chats from the sidebar; deleted content is no longer visible in your history and is removed from active systems within a reasonable period. We may retain backups or logs for limited periods as required by law or legitimate business needs.

9. Security

We employ commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; incidents may occur despite our efforts.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us to request deletion.

11. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal information, such as to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, and to data portability. EEA/UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

U.S. state residents (e.g., CA, VA, CO, CT, UT) may have additional rights, including to know/access, delete, correct, and obtain copies of personal information, and to appeal denials. We do not sell or share personal information. To exercise rights, submit a verifiable request via legal@alterai.email or support@alterai.email. If we deny a request, you may appeal by replying to our decision email.

12. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to provide core functionality, secure accounts, remember preferences, and understand Service performance. You can configure your browser to block cookies; some features may not work properly if you do so.

13. Third‑Party Services

We use third‑party providers to operate the Service. For payments, we use Stripe. Stripe may collect personal data via cookies and similar technologies, including transactional data and device information, for fraud detection, authentication, and analytics. 14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and may provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective signifies acceptance.
